Mercer Slough Blueberry Farm - Bellevue Family Photography

What do you do when a little boy just won't sit still for pictures? You wave a white flag and play tag! I met the Owens family at the Mercer Slough Blueberry Farm in Bellevue for their Seattle holiday family photography session. Their photo shoot was about 10% standing still for smiles and 90% chasing AJ around the rows of blueberry bushes. Sometimes parents want smiley portraits and it's my job to find a way to squeeze this into all the running. Sometimes though parents actually want the running pictures - they're wanting to capture this moment in their child's life when they can't sit still. I like it when parents have this perspective because it's very accepting of reality, creates a very positive vibe during the photo shoot (because we're letting the kids be kids) and it also gives me a chance to practice my photography skills - i.e. can I let a kid run around wild and still manage to capture beautiful photos that don't just look like like a kid randomly running around? Big challenge but it's all these little challenges of being a Bellevue family portrait photographer that keeps me interested! So thank you so much Owens family for running around with me this morning in the Seattle sunshine and chilly air! You guys brought the positive energy! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and I'll see you again soon for more photos :D xx Chamonix
